The mission of the funder is to support projects that deepen understanding about Japan, promote cross-cultural exchange, and nurture global perspectives among K-12 students, teachers, and the community in the United States.
The Exhibitions Abroad Support Program aims to financially assist museums and art institutions outside Japan in organizing exhibitions that introduce Japanese art and culture. This includes international exhibitions such as biennials and triennials featuring Japanese artists and their works. The program specifically supports exhibitions in the 37 states east of the Rocky Mountains, plus DC, that are open between April 1st and March 31 of the following year. Applications for this period must be submitted to the New York office by the specified deadline.
