    The John and Maria Laffin Trust's grant program is structured to support a broad range of causes across four primary sectors: education, animal welfare, medical research, and human services. Specifically:

    • 20% of funds are allocated to support educational institutions in Los Angeles City and County that aim to improve or maintain high academic standards.
    • 30% are dedicated to animal welfare organizations in Los Angeles City and County, focusing on the preservation and humane treatment of abandoned or homeless small animals.
    • 25% support medical research organizations that consider all types of treatments, including those currently opposed by mainstream medical opinion.
    • 25% are aimed at humanitarian organizations working to alleviate human suffering and starvation anywhere in the world.
