Established in 2003, the Liberty Mutual Foundation supports communities where it operates. It aims to utilize the expertise, leadership, and financial strength of Liberty Mutual Insurance and its employees to improve the lives of vulnerable neighbors. The foundation focuses on empowering families and individuals facing hardships, primarily in Greater Boston, Greater Puget Sound, and select counties in Washington State. It emphasizes safety, resilience, educational opportunities, and workforce access.
The Climate Resiliency RFP by the Liberty Mutual Foundation seeks to enhance climate resiliency in low-income and/or underrepresented neighborhoods in the City of Boston. The Foundation has identified three strategic areas for investment: nature-based solutions to create more climate-resilient communities, training/skills development for green jobs targeting underrepresented groups, and the development of resilient and sustainable infrastructure in disadvantaged areas. The Foundation offers two types of grants: a planning grant ranging from $25,000 to $75,000 to support the initial phases of projects focused on building partnerships and capacity; and an implementation grant of up to $100,000 for individual programs or up to $200,000 for collaborative projects, aimed at achieving measurable outcomes. Funding levels will be determined based on the type, number, and quality of the proposals submitted.
