Engage, inspire, and inform Congress and the American people with a universal and enduring source of knowledge and creativity.
The Teaching with Primary Sources (TPS) program, as the Library of Congress's flagship educational outreach effort, focuses on equipping educators with the resources, tools, and professional development necessary to incorporate digitized primary sources into lessons that bolster student literacy, critical thinking, and research skills. It seeks project proposals that creatively use the Library's online resources for educational purposes, targeting diverse American subpopulations based on various attributes including profession, ethnicity, and geographical location among others. The program is open to projects that apply to a wide range of content areas such as STEM, literacy, civics, and more, with a particular interest in projects that address the educational needs of specific groups through innovative strategies, tools, and materials.
