Loudoun County is in the northern part of the Commonwealth of Virginia in the United States.
The grant program by Loudoun County is focused on supporting local tourism initiatives and events with the objective of driving tourism to Loudoun County. This is in alignment with the county’s Restricted Transient Occupancy Tax (RTOT) Funding Policy and the Code of Virginia. The program aims to provide the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors the leverage to impact tourism through sustained investment in tourism services, enable targeted investment in key tourism projects, and enhance tax revenues through increased tourism. The RTOT grant program supports marketing events, visitor attraction initiatives, demand-driving for lodging occupancy, and initiatives that generate local revenue through tourism. Notably, due to the pandemic's impact on tourism, the maximum award for RTOT Program grantees was increased, and the 1:1 match requirement was waived for FY2023.
