The Murdock Trust aims to enrich the quality of life in the Pacific Northwest by providing grants and support to organizations seeking to strengthen the region’s educational, social, spiritual, and cultural base in creative and sustainable ways.
This program aims to support the supplement of start-up costs for establishing new faculty positions in the natural sciences at private educational institutions. Specifically, the program targets undergraduate colleges and universities within a designated five-state region. The grant focuses on institutions that have approved a tenure-track position and are early in the search and hiring process, allowing a Trust grant to be part of the job offer to prospective faculty. The grant program matches institutional funds on a 1:1 basis up to $36,000 to assist new faculty members in initiating their research with both cash and in-kind support.
