The Tri-State Learning Collaborative on Aging (TSLCA) is devoted to addressing the needs of older residents, workers, and caregivers in Northern New England. Through shared learning and educational programming, it aims to foster community responses, reduce program fragmentation, showcase promising models for elder care, and provide a platform for collaboration and technical assistance. Supported by various foundations and organizations, TSLCA's mission is to enhance the well-being of the aging population.
The Connection, Health, and Equity through Food (CHEF) Program seeks to increase equitable access to healthy foods and enhance social connections among older adults in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Eastern Massachusetts, and Upstate New York. It supports a variety of demographics, including BIPOC, LGBTQ+, women, veterans, people living with disabilities, and those in rural communities. The CHEF Grant Program, under Hannaford's initiative and managed by the Maine Council on Aging, funds innovative projects and existing programs targeting food insecurity and social isolation. Grants can be used for essential resources like equipment and staff training, with a goal towards sustainable solutions for the root causes of food insecurity and social isolation. Grant amounts vary, with a focus on impactful and inclusive programming.
