Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry (DACF) is Maine's support center for many land-based natural resource interests, including farms and forestry-related businesses, outdoor recreation, and public access to parks and public lands.
The ME Boating Facilities Fund is designed to improve public recreational boating access by supporting projects that acquire, develop, enhance, or rehabilitate boat launching facilities. Eligible projects can involve both tidal and non-tidal water sites and may include the development of facilities for both hand-carry and trailered boats. The funding, which may be monetary or in the form of materials like floats and concrete planking, originates from a portion of the State gasoline taxes collected from recreational motor boat use. This grant program seeks to partner with towns, cities, districts, and other public and private agencies to ensure that Maine’s waters are accessible to the general public for boating.
