MEHAF: Community Responsive Grants Program

The Maine Health Access Foundation (MeHAF) works to promote access to quality health care and improve the health of everyone in Maine. Collaborating with a broad network including nonprofits, advocacy organizations, and health care entities, MeHAF aims to create equal opportunities for health and healthcare access across the state.

    Overview

The Maine Health Access Foundation offers annual responsive grant programs: Systems Improvement and Innovation Grants (SIIRG) and Community Responsive Grants (CRG). These grants aim to fund projects responsive to community-identified needs across the state. The Community Responsive Grants Program emphasizes health equity, supporting projects that address barriers to health care and good health. Funded projects under CRG are expected to change policies, practices, and perceptions that hinder health care access or lead to poor health outcomes, focusing on innovative solutions informed by community experiences. Leadership from communities experiencing health inequities is crucial, with community members playing a pivotal role in both development and implementation of the proposed solutions.
