The Maine Health Access Foundation (MeHAF) works to promote access to quality health care and improve the health of everyone in Maine. Collaborating with a broad network including nonprofits, advocacy organizations, and health care entities, MeHAF aims to create equal opportunities for health and healthcare access across the state.
The MeHAF offers two annual responsive grant programs, Systems Improvement and Innovation Responsive Grants (SIIRG) and Community Responsive Grants (CRG), aimed at projects that respond to community-identified health needs. The SIIRG program specifically seeks to make system and organizational changes that address health equity barriers, emphasizing the involvement of community members in shaping these improvements. It focuses on four strategic priority areas: rural health, aging/older adults, behavioral health, and maternal & infant health. Projects that align with these priorities, encourage community participation, and strive to reduce inequities are favored. Funding options include a one-year planning grant up to $30,000 or implementation grants of up to $50,000 per year for one or two years.
