The mission is to invest in performing artists and their work as the critical foundation for imagining and co-creating a more equitable and vibrant society.
This grant program aims to support the creation of new, live performance projects across the United States, its territories, and Indigenous tribal nations. It is open to dance, theater, music, multidisciplinary, and experimental projects intended to result in new live performances. The program emphasizes projects that experiment with performance forms and content to advance conversations, perceptions, and/or policies, and that create artistic processes treating all participants with care and respect in relation to existing systems of oppression. Over 90 grantees will receive a $25,000 grant for project creation and development, a $5,000 unrestricted general operating grant, and a $1,000 microgrant to support another artist in their community.
