The Marine Technology Society focuses on promoting awareness, understanding, advancement, and application of marine technology. Its mission includes enhancing the dissemination of marine technology information, promoting and improving related educational programs, and advancing the development of tools and procedures for the exploration, study, and sustainable use of the oceans.
The Marine Technology Society offers scholarships to support students in marine-related programs at all levels of higher education, focusing on marine technology, marine engineering, and marine science. Available scholarships for MTS student members include the Charles H. Bussmann Undergraduate and Graduate Scholarships, the John C. Bajus Scholarship for students involved in community service, the Paros-Digiquartz Scholarship for those interested in marine instrumentation, and the Dieter Family Scholarship, which also covers travel expenses to an MTS/IEEE Oceans Conference. These scholarships aim to financially assist students pursuing careers in marine technology and related fields.
