The Maryland State Arts Council (MSAC) is dedicated to advancing the arts across the state. Its mission focuses on championing creative expression, diverse programming, equitable access, lifelong learning, and enhancing the quality of life through the arts for all Marylanders. MSAC aims to increase participation, provide intentional support, build capacity, leverage connections, and bolster the arts in Maryland, showcasing the work of artists and arts organizations to enrich community vitality.
The Arts in Education (AiE) Program seeks to enhance arts and arts education across Maryland schools, nonprofits, and community settings. It aims to provide access to external educational arts resources, offer financial and technical support for arts education programs, aid in the professional development of teaching artists, and support the integration of arts into the curriculum as a crucial element. The AiE Grant, specifically, provides matching funds to Maryland-based nonprofits and government entities for educational projects led by Teaching Artists from MSAC’s roster, with MSAC serving as a financial intermediary to ensure Teaching Artists receive funding directly.
