    Overview

The Grants for Organizations (GFO) program aims to provide annual operating grants to organizations in Maryland that produce or present the arts to the public. The goal is to strengthen the vitality and sustainability of the state's cultural organizations, supporting a strong and stable arts infrastructure. The program covers two main types of grants: General Operating Grants (GOG) for arts-focused organizations, and Arts Program Grants (PRG) for non-arts organizations with ongoing public arts activities. Applicants can apply in specific artistic categories, reflecting the predominant activities of their organization, ensuring a diverse representation of the arts. Deadlines for applications vary depending on whether it's an "On Year" or an "Off Year" for the applicant, with a simpler application process in "Off Years".
