The Mass Cultural Council advances the Commonwealth’s creative and cultural sector by celebrating traditions and talents, championing its collective needs, and equitably investing public resources.
The Massachusetts Cultural Facilities Fund (CFF) is a state‑level grant program intended to strengthen and expand the cultural infrastructure of Massachusetts by helping nonprofit and public cultural institutions improve, build, or rehabilitate their facilities. The program’s guiding principle is to leverage public funds with private investment via a 1:1 cash match requirement, ensuring that funded projects are collaboratively and sustainably supported. The Fund supports a spectrum of facility‑related undertakings: capital improvements (construction, renovation, repair, acquisition, infrastructure, integrated fixed systems), feasibility and technical assistance planning, and systems replacement planning (building systems assessment).
