    Overview

The Melanoma Research Alliance (MRA) requests proposals for pre-clinical, translational, and early clinical research aimed at making significant, near-term progress in melanoma prevention, detection, diagnosis, and treatment. The focus is on translational science to bridge scientific discoveries to practical applications, particularly in clinical trials and studies that could enhance melanoma detection, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. Areas of interest include elucidation of factors leading to melanoma, novel detection and diagnostic methods, and the development of new treatments based on the understanding of melanoma's molecular mechanisms, immunotherapy, or targeting the tumor microenvironment. The Dermatology Career Development Award, part of this initiative, seeks to bring early career faculty and clinical research fellows into melanoma research, supporting projects with the potential for immediate public health impact, including the application of artificial intelligence to improve diagnostics and treatment methodologies. Grants can amount up to $75,000 per year, with a possible total of $150,000.
