Michelson Spark Grants - Open Education Resources (OER)

The Open Educational Resources (OER) grant program is designed to increase the adoption and implementation of OER in postsecondary education, improving affordability, access, and quality of learning experiences. Specifically, the program supports:

• The expansion of courses and faculty using OER.
• Capacity building, professional development, and marketing efforts for OER.
• Research on OER's impact on marginalized student groups, exploring outcomes such as decision-making, completion rates, grades, and overall impact on students' lives.
• Examination of automatic textbook billing practices, focusing on student experience, consumer protection, and raising awareness among policymakers about the current landscape and its impact on students.
• Research on student data protections within the digital course materials marketplace, aiming to protect student privacy and analyze emerging risks.
