    Overview

The Job Training Incentive Program offered by DEED provides grants to new or expanding businesses in Greater Minnesota for training workers quickly and efficiently. The Minnesota Job Skills Partnership Board is seeking applications for grants to fund training programs for new and incumbent workers under the Partnership and Pathways Programs. Grants up to $200,000 are available for eligible businesses to train new employees. Eligibility is specifically for businesses located outside of the seven-county metropolitan area or in specified cities adding at least three new jobs that pay wages at least equal to 120% of federal poverty guidelines for a family of four, with a 2024 guideline of $37,440 per year. These jobs must also offer at least 32 work hours per week for a minimum of nine months per year. A significant aspect of this grant is the requirement for businesses to match the grant on a .5:1 basis.
