The Montana Mental Health Trust aims to support programs, services, and resources dedicated to the prevention, treatment, and management of serious mental illness in Montana children and adults. This includes enhancing education for medical providers on prescribing practices, training law enforcement on crisis intervention, ensuring transition support for those moving from in-patient to out-patient care, investing in children’s mental health initiatives, and facilitating peer-to-peer services.
The Trust prefers grant applications that focus on: conducting and sharing research on treatment strategies within Montana, developing programs for individuals with co-occurring disorders, providing comprehensive services to all Montanans, offering transitional housing post-treatment, and establishing community crisis systems to prevent the incarceration of mentally ill individuals. These grants are aimed at organizations that address these priority areas with evidence-based or innovative approaches to mental health treatment and support.
