Dedicated to the well-being of Bay Area children and youth, this funder supports organizations that prepare children and youth from low-income households for fulfilled and productive lives through strong and effective leadership.
The grant aims to support educational programs for children aged 5-14 that promote stability in their lives. This includes helping children succeed academically, fostering the development of healthy and trusting relationships, and supporting their social and emotional development. Programs eligible for funding must provide services like tutoring, mentoring, community engagement, leadership development, or enrichment and demonstrate positive outcomes in both academic growth and social-emotional skill development. Priority is given to proposals that offer school-based or -linked services tackling childhood trauma, consider community and personal risk factors, engage families and caregivers, and lay a foundation for lifelong learning. Programs serving foster and homeless youth, as well as those in impoverished neighborhoods, are particularly encouraged.
