Mortenson Family Foundation builds partnerships to strengthen community-driven approaches that advance equity, opportunity, and sustainable systems.
The grant program seeks to support nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations and public schools that aid children and families in poverty within a 7-county metro area, emphasizing equity, culturally relevant learning, and innovative practices. It aims at organizations that involve beneficiaries in the design process, empower student and family voices, offer direct support in social, emotional, academic, and mental health areas, and work on changing or improving systems for equitable access to resources. Partnerships with homes, schools, communities, and a commitment to sustained, asset-based support over multiple years with a focus on outcomes and quality are prioritized.
