The Multicultural Council of Saskatchewan (MCoS) aims to support initiatives that demonstrate a deep understanding, acceptance, and demonstration of multicultural values. They prioritize projects that contribute towards their mission, achieving aims and objectives aligned with their Strategic Directions. MCoS promotes multicultural values across five streams of work: Cultural Continuity, Celebration of Diversity, Anti-Racism, Intercultural Connections, and Integration, emphasizing the importance of retaining ethnocultural traditions, celebrating diversity, combating racism, fostering intercultural connections, and ensuring community integration.
The grant focuses on sponsoring activities that align with MCoS's mission and at least one of the five identified multicultural streams of work. These streams are Cultural Continuity, Celebration of Diversity, Anti-Racism, Intercultural Connections, and Integration. The program supports a broad range of efforts, from those that help ethnocultural communities maintain their traditions to initiatives that aim to build equity, creativity, and justice through the celebration of diversity and active anti-racism work. Funding and sponsorship opportunities are available for members and schools involved in these endeavors, encouraging exchanges, connections, and meaningful engagement across different cultural perspectives. The grant program is open to individuals and organizations, including non-profits, and accepts applications on a rolling basis. Past sponsorships have supported a wide variety of projects and festivals that highlight and celebrate multiculturalism and diversity.
