Museums Alaska is a statewide professional association dedicated to strengthening museums and cultural centers throughout Alaska. The Collections Management Fund, established by the Rasmuson Foundation and managed by Museums Alaska since 2013, aims to support the Alaska museum community by improving collections management. This includes providing expertise, training, and access to necessary conservation materials and supplies. In 2022, the program expanded its eligibility to allow any department within an organization to apply for funding for projects focused on collections management, exhibitions, education, or programming, reflecting a broad commitment to enhancing how collections are cared for, displayed, and utilized for educational purposes.
