The NAMM Foundation advances active participation in music making across the lifespan by supporting scientific research, philanthropic giving, and public service programs.
The William R. Gard Memorial Scholarship, established by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM), aims to encourage students to pursue education and careers in the music products industry. It is named after former NAMM Executive Vice President, William R. Gard, and is available to NAMM Member employees attending college full-time. Scholarships are awarded in the amount of $2,000 per academic year and may be renewed for up to three additional years, contingent upon continued employment with a NAMM Member firm. Scholarship funds are intended for tuition or mandatory fees and are disbursed to the awardee's college or university once all required paperwork is received. Unused funds must be returned to The NAMM Foundation Gard Scholarship Fund if the student leaves school.
