To raise awareness about the needs of children and teens grieving a death and provide education and resources to anyone who wants to support them.
The grant program seeks to enhance childhood bereavement support services across the United States, with a focus on increasing access to services in diverse communities, enhancing the organizational capacity of service providers, expanding services to meet unmet needs, and supporting communities in tackling grief and loss with tangible resources. The grant is offered twice a year and targets organizations that aid young people affected by the death of a loved one, aiming to improve access to grief support for youth and their families. Capacity Building Grants of $10,000 are available for organizations with a minimum annual budget of $50,000, focusing on planning activities, staff/board development, strategic relationships/collaboration, internal operations, technology improvements, and support for new organizations under 3 years old to assess organizational needs or undergo strategic planning.
