    Type of Support

    Overview

The National Ataxia Foundation (NAF) aims to fuel progress towards a cure and improved quality of life for individuals impacted by Ataxia through funding high-caliber scientific research globally. This encompasses both hereditary and sporadic types of Ataxia across basic and translational studies. NAF extends its resources to a wide range of applicants, including those from non-profit and for-profit entities, both domestically and internationally, with specific provisions for non-U.S. citizens. The NAF Graduate Research Fellowship fosters early career scientists in pursuing Ataxia-related research by offering a non-renewable, merit-based fellowship. The grant encourages proposals spanning basic, translational, and clinical research with a focus on all types of Ataxia. Funding, up to $25,000 for a period of one year, supports pre-doctoral students, with provisions for no-cost extension under certain conditions to facilitate the completion of grant activities.
