The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics advocates for high-quality mathematics teaching and learning for each and every student.
The grant, sponsored by the Mary P. Dolciani Halloran Foundation, aims to foster the development of innovative mathematics teaching materials for grades K-8. It encourages educators to collaborate on creating new ideas that will enhance the understanding and teaching of mathematics by focusing on designing lessons and activities that offer students engaging, challenging, and relevant mathematical experiences. These materials should be tested in the classroom and refined throughout the project, with an emphasis on a cohesive mathematical theme. Grant awards are $5,000, with the possibility of a one-year extension twice, totaling a maximum of $15,000 over the life of the grant.
