The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics advocates for high-quality mathematics teaching and learning for each and every student.
The Partnership for Transition to College Readiness Grant supports the development of partnerships between high schools and local higher education institutions. Its primary goal is to innovate 12th grade curriculum and activities to ensure a successful transition to college-level mathematics. This grant focuses on engaging and motivating students in their senior year of high school, who are not yet ready for college gateway mathematics courses, by creating pathways to success without relying on remedial approaches. Instead, it emphasizes preparation for future college math coursework to enable students to be ready for credit-bearing courses upon entering college. The target group for this grant is high school seniors and/or rising college freshmen who are not yet considered college-ready in mathematics. The grant specifically excludes programs aimed at students already in advanced placement or identified as college-ready in mathematics.
