The National Endowment for the Humanities serves and strengthens our nation by supporting high-quality projects and programs in the humanities and by making the humanities available to all Americans.
This grant program is designed to support Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs) by strengthening their capacity to support humanities research on their campuses. It is specifically aimed at institutions with faculty or staff who have been awarded an NEH Awards for Faculty fellowship in the federal fiscal year 2024. The program offers financial support for replacement instructors, with NEH providing funding at a fixed rate of $2,500 per month (full-time equivalent), up to a maximum of $30,000. The fixed rate is calculated pro-rata based on the Awards for Faculty fellow’s NEH period of performance and their regular institutional load.
