    Overview

The Southern Plains Grassland Program is dedicated to conserving and restoring grasslands and wildlife species in the Southern Great Plains. The program collaborates with nonprofit and government partners, and the ranching community, to offer crucial financial and technical resources for projects that voluntarily enhance grassland ecosystem health and resilience to climate change. It emphasizes increasing grasslands' carbon storage capacity, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and delivering additional climate change mitigation benefits. Resultantly, it aims to augment the vitality of grassland ecosystems, benefiting wildlife and rural, ranching-based communities. Approximately $3 million in grants will be awarded, with significant support from leading corporations and federal agencies.
