    Overview

The grant program aims to develop and implement local, regional, and national initiatives, workshops, and services designed to enable fishermen to embark on career paths and sustainably supply seafood from the United States' oceans, coasts, and Great Lakes. Approximately $1,000,000 in federal funds is expected to be available, supporting about 2-3 awards. Each project can receive up to $400,000 in federal funds over one or two years, with a yearly funding limit of $200,000. The program fundamentally seeks to bolster the fishing industry and enhance seafood supply chains through education, training, and research.
