Environmental Engineering

The Environmental Engineering program aims to fund research that:

• Prevents, minimizes, or reuses pollution discharges to the environment.
• Mitigates ecological and human-health impacts of pollution through smart, adaptive, or reactive measures.
• Remedies polluted environments through engineered processes. Research areas of interest include building a future without pollution or waste, sustainable water supply and protection, environmental chemistry, and engineering of the built environment. Proposals should address novelty and potential transformative nature of the work. The typical award duration is up to three years, with special encouragement for Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) proposals and possibilities for Conferences, Workshops, Supplements, Rapid Response Research (RAPID), EArly-concept Grants for Exploratory Research (EAGER), and Grants for Academic Liaison with Industry (GOALI) proposals.
