The Foundations for Digital Twins as Catalyzers of Biomedical Technological Innovation (FDT-BioTech) program aims to support interdisciplinary research projects focused on the mathematical and engineering foundations necessary for developing and utilizing digital twins and synthetic data in biomedical and healthcare applications. Specifically, it emphasizes the creation of digital, in silico models for evaluating medical devices and the importance of these models in addressing challenges in the development and assessment of biomedical technologies. The broad goal is to spur biomedical technological innovation through the new foundational development of methods and algorithms relevant to digital twins and synthetic humans.
