The National Wolfwatcher Coalition is a 501c3 nonprofit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to the long-term recovery and preservation of wolves. Their mission encompasses education, advocacy, and participation based on the best available science and principles of democracy. They aim to educate the public, advocate for science-based decision-making at all government levels, and engage in activities promoting citizens' awareness and participation in wolf-related decision-making. The organization strives to find common ground among stakeholders and solutions to challenges in wolf recovery.
The National Wolfwatcher Wolf Education Grants are designed to provide financial support to educators, whether public or private, and non-profit organizations with a mission that includes wolf education. The primary goals are to assist in delivering quality wolf education programs and support ongoing projects or materials related to wolf education, excluding salary expenses. Recipients are required to deliver a final report detailing the expenditure of funds and the outcomes of the program, with progress reports to be possibly published on the Coalition's website. Awards up to $500 will be granted based on the application's quality, aiming to support new proposals and existing projects needing funding.
