    Overview

The Student Grant Program (SGP) by the Neotropical Grassland Conservancy is tailored to assist graduate students in Central and South America. It addresses financial barriers that often block student research projects by providing funds for essential needs like transportation, lodging, meals, and field supplies. This grant supports studies with a strong commitment to conservation, demonstrating feasibility, merit, and alignment with the NGC's conservation mission. Successful applicants receive a one-time payment of $1,250 USD and are required to submit a detailed report on their project outcome and expenditure. Outstanding project leaders have the opportunity to receive additional funding and the Christopher Miller Outstanding Student Award, which grants an extra $500 to an exceptional Student Grant Program participant annually based on their project's impact and final report evaluation.
