    Overview

    The Long Island Sound Stewardship Fund (LISSF) is a competitive grant program designed to restore and protect the health and living resources of Long Island Sound. It supports nongovernmental organizations working on issues and projects aligned with the Long Island Sound Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan 2015. The grant focuses on building stronger organizations through training, technical assistance, and various capacity-building strategies. It also emphasizes network building among diverse organizations for unified action to protect the Sound and pilot tools and strategies for environmental impact. The program offers grants for capacity building, network building, and piloting new strategies, generally ranging from $15,000 to $100,000, and for small projects with substantial impacts, ranging from $3,000 to $10,000.
