Overview

The Newberry Consortium in American Indian and Indigenous Studies (NCAIS) Faculty Fellowship is part of the Newberry's effort to support innovative and groundbreaking research. This fellowship is designed to give researchers the opportunity to delve into the Newberry's rich collections for four to nine months. It aims to encourage scholarship that offers new interpretations and expands our understanding of the past, with a particular focus on supporting early career faculty members from institutions that are part of the NCAIS. These fellows are expected to engage in the scholarly community, contribute to academic discourse, and participate in the NCAIS Graduate Student Conference. This fellowship allows for both residence-based and offsite research, enhancing accessibility and flexibility for recipients.
