The Robeson County Community Foundation (RCCF) aims to build community assets through the creation of permanent endowments, grants, and leadership in Robeson County. Founded in 2005 and guided by a local volunteer advisory board, RCCF facilitates local philanthropy by making it accessible for individuals of any means to support local causes, either by opening an endowment for their favorite cause or contributing to an existing fund.
The Ashe County Community Foundation Grant program annually awards funds to qualified nonprofits from multiple endowments. These endowments include the Ashe Community Advancement Fund, the Daniel Lee “Dan” Eldreth Memorial Endowment, the Melinda Hamrick Children's Fund Endowment, and the Virginia S. Hunt Fund for the Care of Animals. Each fund has a specific cause it supports: educational projects, programs benefiting children, and animal welfare projects within Ashe County, respectively. This competitive grants program leverages local insights to address community needs effectively.
