The mission of the Northeastern IPM Center, supported by the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture, is to further the development and adoption of Integrated Pest Management, addressing the unique regional IPM priorities and needs of the northeastern United States. The Center emphasizes sustainable pest management solutions that benefit the region's agriculture, communities, and environment.
The Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Partnership Grants Program aims to support projects that align with the mission of the Northeastern IPM Center by identifying and addressing regional IPM priorities and contributing to the overall benefit of the northeastern region. The grant program focuses on various areas including Community IPM, IPM in Organic Systems, Climate Change and Pests, Pollinators, Next Generation Education, and Advanced Production Systems, along with addressing cross-cutting issues such as Diversity in IPM, Emerging Invasive Species, and Pesticide Resistance. The program seeks to fund projects that establish strong partnerships, increase knowledge about pest management, address regional IPM priorities through research and extension, and teach sustainable food production using IPM practices. Three types of projects can be funded: IPM Applied Research, IPM Working Groups, and IPM Communications, with each project type receiving specified funding amounts and project durations.
