The Northland Foundation invests in people and communities to support a thriving Northeastern Minnesota.
The Youth in Philanthropy Grant, funded by the KIDS PLUS Youth In Philanthropy Board, encourages young individuals from Aitkin, Carlton, Cook, Itasca, Koochiching, Lake, and St. Louis Counties, as well as Superior, Wisconsin, to engage in philanthropy by offering them grants of up to $1,000. These grants aim to support initiatives that benefit schools, youth-serving organizations, and communities. The unique aspect of this grant program is that it must be planned, written, and executed by young people, albeit with the guidance of an adult advisor. Eligible applicants include youth groups like 4-H and Girl Scouts, youth-serving organizations such as youth centers and Boys & Girls Clubs, and school and community organizations like peer helpers and student councils.
