The NRA Foundation's mission is focused on providing financial support to enhance the shooting sports, including education, safety, and marksmanship. Through fundraising and donations, the Foundation awards grants for educational and public service programs in communities across the United States.
The grant program focuses on supporting projects that: 1) Enhance firearms and hunting safety; 2) Provide education on firearms, their history, shooting sports, and marksmanship; 3) Foster a deeper understanding among the general public on subjects vital for public well-being; 4) Support research for better firearms safety and marksmanship facilities and techniques; and 5) Assist in activities aligned with charitable, educational, or scientific purposes as per the Internal Revenue Code, including those that bolster national or international sports competition.
