The NRA Foundation's mission is focused on providing financial support to enhance the shooting sports, including education, safety, and marksmanship. Through fundraising and donations, the Foundation awards grants for educational and public service programs in communities across the United States.
The grant program focuses on furthering charitable aims as recognized under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. It supports projects that: promote safety and education in shooting sports and hunting; educate the youth and the public on firearms, their history, and safe handling; research for enhancing firearms safety and marksmanship; and support the National Rifle Association’s charitable, educational, or scientific activities, provided they align with the guidelines of section 501(c)(3). Eligibility and funding amounts are determined by The NRA Foundation.
