The Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) oversees the U.S. Intelligence Community (IC), ensuring the implementation of the National Intelligence Program and serving as the chief advisor on intelligence matters related to national security to the President, the National Security Council, and the Homeland Security Council.
The IC Centers for Academic Excellence (CAE) Program, managed by ODNI’s Office of the Assistant Director of National Intelligence for Human Capital, aims to enhance the nation's security by cultivating a diverse pool of professional candidates through academic initiatives. Originally launched as a pilot in 2004 and subsequently managed under various agencies, the program seeks to broaden the awareness and understanding of the Intelligence Community's mission and culture across diverse communities. This is achieved by offering funding opportunities designed to attract a wide range of applicants interested in contributing to national security priorities.
