The Parks & Public Space Initiative aims to enhance and activate neighborhood/community parks, school parks, trails, and other public lands through beautification and development projects. Originating from the Margaret Annis Boys Trust, this initiative prioritizes landscaping, development of recreational spaces, and community engagement in Oklahoma City. Projects eligible for funding include those improving plant diversity, soil quality, and the overall aesthetic of public spaces, with additional support for amenities that enhance the functionality and enjoyment of these areas. The initiative also focuses on increasing the usage of public spaces for health, cultural, and recreational purposes, engaging various community stakeholders in the care and improvement of these spaces, and fostering a sense of community ownership and involvement in public land stewardship.
