To conserve, enhance and protect Oklahoma's forests and natural resources for present and future generations.
The Southern Pine Beetle Prevention Project offers cost-share funding to forest landowners in eastern Oklahoma to undertake recommended prevention practices aimed at reducing the risk of beetle attack. The grant focuses on assisting owners of loblolly and shortleaf pine stands that are particularly susceptible to infestation, emphasizing the significance of managing overstocked and overcrowded pines. Priority for funding is assigned to landowners in the counties of LeFlore, McCurtain, and Pushmataha, which are most prone to outbreaks, but is also available to those outside these counties with high or very high risk rated pine stands adhering to specified criteria regarding stocking level and ownership size.
