The Tourism Economic Development and Recovery Fund (TEDRF) is a cost-sharing program designed to boost Ontario’s tourism sector. It offers non-capital funding for projects that foster the development of innovative tourism products, encourage tourism investment, and enhance the industry's capacity. Specific emphasis is placed on recovery initiatives that aim to increase visitation and compensate for the decline in global travel due to COVID-19. This includes supporting tourism industry associations by helping to offset membership fees and facilitating access to services and benefits. Key goals of the program include developing new tourism experiences, attracting domestic and foreign investments, promoting workforce development within the tourism industry, and supporting the efforts of tourism sector associations to enhance industry competitiveness and growth.
