To lead Oregon in cultivating, growing and valuing culture as an integral part of communities.
Cultural Opportunity Grants, funded by the Oregon Cultural Trust and administered by the Lane County Cultural Coalition, aim to support and protect Oregon culture through four main initiatives: protecting and stabilizing cultural resources, expanding public awareness and quality of arts, humanities, and heritage, increasing access to and use of culture, and ensuring Oregon-based cultural resources contribute to the quality of life in Oregon’s communities. The program has identified three priority areas for funding: enhancing access to cultural activities ensuring affordability, accessibility, and inclusivity; increasing awareness among residents about cultural activities; and encouraging cultural education in Lane County. Applicants are expected to address one of these priorities with strategies that might include subsidizing costs, supporting marketing efforts, creating educational programs, and more.
