The Wildlife Division is dedicated to monitoring wildlife species' numbers and health, setting conservation and management objectives, restoring and maintaining habitats, and regulating game animal harvests. Integral to its mission, the Oregon Conservation Strategy guides its efforts in conserving the state's biodiversity and ecosystems, ensuring sustainable wildlife populations and habitats.
The grant program, under the Bird Stamp Program, aims to support habitat development, improvement projects, equipment purchases, surveys, and/or research specifically benefiting waterfowl and upland game birds. Applicants are encouraged to submit proposals that directly contribute to the preservation, enhancement, or restoration of habitats critical for these bird species. Projects may also need to align with local land use plans and regulations to be considered for funding, underscoring the importance of compliance with environmental policies and community standards in conservation efforts.
