Civil money penalties (CMPs) are fines imposed on nursing facilities that do not meet federal health and safety standards. The State of Alaska receives a portion of these funds and reinvests them in projects that improve the overall quality of life and/or care of nursing facility residents.
The Oregon Civil Monetary Penalty (CMP) fund grant program supports quality improvement initiatives within nursing facilities that directly or indirectly benefit resident care and life. It encourages applications from providers, stakeholders, and organizations focused on developing and implementing evidence-based practices for enhancing resident care and quality of life. These grants target projects outside of normal facility operations and include uses such as support during facility closures, technical assistance for quality programs, training for better care, activities enhancing resident social interactions, and technology for communication.
