The Osteopathic Heritage Foundation of Nelsonville and the Athens County Foundation aim to support nonprofit and public organizations in/serving Athens County, Ohio. They focus on responding to emergent needs outside traditional funding cycles, fostering economic vitality, individual health and well-being, and vibrant community life.
The Athens County Foundation Response and Resilience Fund is designed to address critical issues and seize emerging opportunities that align with the Foundation's strategic focus areas. This grant program is adaptable, aiming to fill gaps caused by the pandemic while also looking forward to support new opportunities. It offers support in three main categories: meeting one-time, pandemic-prompted needs, such as adjustments in operations and service delivery to comply with public health recommendations; capacity building for organizational resilience, including staff training, purchase of materials and equipment, and support for new system implementation; and catalytic grants for projects addressing critical issues or emerging opportunities, like broadband expansion, remote work possibilities, and outdoor recreation economic development.
